The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) is a nonprofit association of certified commissioning authorities dedicated to providing professional, independent commissioning services. The guiding principles for ACG are similar to those of the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), whose members are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism and technical expertise. The ACG Steering Committee has developed a certification exam that will test the knowledge and technical expertise of eligible commissioning providers. The exam is based on material contained in the ACG Commissioning Guideline, which is available for purchase or as a free download at www.commissioning.org. ACG now has nearly 90 certified member companies and is growing quickly -- for more information about upcoming CxA Workshop & Exam offerings, see www.commissioning.org. Membership and certification in ACG is open to licensed architects, professional engineers (P.E.s), and certified test and balance engineers, (TBEs). ACG is now accepting applications for membership and certification. ACG will provide information about the commissioning process through technical articles and publications, website discussion forums, and meetings and seminars. The association will also facilitate an effective quality assurance program to ensure that members of ACG maintain high standards of practice while providing professional, independent commissioning services to building owners and other industry professionals.
